Dr Nyotu Gitau is a young scientist with a passion for knowledge generation and translation.

A Health Innovation Consultant and Researcher, he holds a BSc in Medical Physiology, a MBChB (UON) and an MPhil in Health Innovation from the University of Cape Town, Department of Biomedical Engineering.

He brings to IH, tacit knowledge capacity from a research and clinical practice background, ingraining value in the design, implementation, and evaluation of innovations in healthcare.

Daktari has a history of leading collaborative research endeavours and was awarded the Mandela Rhodes Scholarship for leadership and entrepreneurship in Africa in 2018. His area of work interest is in increasing adoption of technology within the health sector through the development of triple helix collaboration models.

He is currently working on developing a network analysis-based surveillance and testing system for COVID 19.
